Venus Rising Med Spa opened in October 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic. It started in a small 110 sq ft studio in Camas, a part-time solo practice for Nurse Practitioner and owner Mara Sagmiller. The quality service with individualized care in kind hands has quickly launched Venus Rising Med Spa into the big leagues. In Fall of 2021, Venus Rising moved to its new location in the heart of downtown Vancouver in the historic Heritage Building. The new space boasts beautiful, calming decor, three treatment rooms, top of the line aesthetic equipment for skin rejuvenation, and room to bring on more team members.

Mara Sagmiller
Nurse Practitioner,
Owner at Venus Rising Med Spa
Mara, a Registered Nurse since 2005, started her nursing career in hospital medical and post-op wards. She earned a BSN and MSN, becoming a Professor of Nursing, teaching both didactic and clinical courses to senior RN students while working towards her own Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certification.
Since becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Mara has specialized in adult and geriatric primary care, focused on serving vulnerable and underserved populations. Meanwhile, she has continued her love of performing procedures, mastering dermatologic assessments and procedures, with both medical and aesthetic applications.
In aesthetic medicine she most enjoys the total transformation that comes with complete skin rejuvenation. A total transformation is a process to gradually bringing back the skin’s natural youth and vitality through a variety of modalities based on a customized treatment plan. She says this is her favorite because of the internal transformation that happens to her clients along the way. She loves seeing their confidence blossom as the outside begins to match how they feel on the inside.
The relationship with each individual client is what brings Mara joy and why she will always put people before profits. Her goal is for every woman to hold her head high with confidence and feel good in her own skin.
Mara is currently working towards advanced certification in lifestyle medicine to bring wellness services to her med spa. In the coming years Mara will enhance the anti-aging aesthetic services she offers with whole-food, plant-based nutrition courses and coaching for longevity and wellness. She believes in the power of foods to heal the body and protect against disease and unhealthy aging.
Mara is a native Oregonian, born and raised in Eugene. She lives in Vancouver, Washington with her husband Brian and their two children. She is an avid quilter and reader.
Hannah Parks
Administrative Assistant
Hannah joined Venus Rising Med Spa in Fall of 2021. She is often the sweet voice answering our phones, helping you schedule your appointment, or greeting you when you walk in the door. She is indispensable behind the scenes, keeping operations running smoothly.
Hannah grew up in a large family that taught her how to go for the things she wants in life and that she doesn’t have to go through life alone.
This rising star worked her way through college, starting out in retail, working her way up to a supervisory position. She has also worked as a tutor and helped home school her siblings through the pandemic. Now armed with a bachelors in Business, she is ready for more.
Hannah found a passion in helping people. She lives by the saying “Love what you do and you will never work a day in your life” by Mark Anthony. This makes her a perfect fit at Venus Rising Med Spa. We love what we do!!
Hannah loves to travel and hopes to see everything this beautiful planet has to offer!
Jonelle
Registered Nurse
Jonelle has been a Registered Nurse since 2018, earning her BSN from Linfield College. Jonelle began her journey into aesthetics in 2019. She is committed to continuing education to ensure safe and beautiful results. Jonelle loves building relationships with patients and taking the time to work together towards their aesthetic goals. The most rewarding result is the confidence and joy that comes with aesthetics.
Jonelle is exceptionally skilled in all aspects of total facial rejuvenation including injectables, resurfacing, skin tightening, facials, skin care products and more. She has a sweet bedside manner and ensures every patient has the information they need to make informed decisions about their aesthetic care. She is a valuable part of the team at Venus Rising Med Spa. You can see her on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
