Chemical Peels
Regular exfoliation is an important step in any effective skincare routine, but there comes a point when at-home products aren’t enough and your skin needs something more. At Venus Rising Med Spa in Vancouver, WA, we offer professional chemical peels that use a combination of acids to dissolve the dead skin cell layer that’s keeping you from enjoying brighter and healthier skin. These peels can meet the needs of all skin types and patients with unique skin concerns.
What Are Chemical Peels?
A professional, in-office chemical peel contains a synergistic blend of skin-safe acids that improve specific skin imperfections and concerns like acne, lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture, among others. These acids quickly dissolve the superficial layers of the skin to initiate a healing response from the body that results in new skin cells and increased collagen and elastin production.
Chemical peels are versatile. They can help improve all skin types and correct several different skin conditions. There are three types of peels: light, medium, and deep. Each has a specific concentration of acids that can dissolve the top layer, medium layer, or reach into the deeper layers of the skin to address specific concerns.
What Are the Treatment Benefits?
There are multiple benefits to scheduling regular chemical peels. These professional peels do what even the strongest over-the-counter products cannot. They can help patients achieve healthier and brighter skin through a quick treatment, targeting even the most stubborn skin conditions. Other treatment benefits include the following:
- Peels can be combined with other skin care treatments for enhanced results
- The treatment process is quick and comfortable
- Results are visible after one treatment
- There is little to no social downtime
- Treatments are customizable and can meet the needs of patients with unique skin types and concerns
- Peels can make your at-home skin routine more effective
- Peels are anti-aging and stimulate natural collagen and elastin production
Epionce® Chemical Peels
At Venus Rising Med Spa, we offer Epionce® chemical peels. Epionce® peels are known for their effectiveness and versatility, as they can treat and improve everything from large pores and acne-prone skin to rosacea and aging.
Refresh is an Epionce® chemical peel that combines malic acid and salicylic acid to promote cellular turnover. Its list of ingredients also includes willow bark, which helps heal the skin and reduce inflammation.
This peel is the perfect option for those who have never experienced a chemical peel before or who want to improve their skin without planning around downtime. Refresh is a light peel that can treat common skin concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, dull skin tone, congested skin, and lack of radiance.
The Epionce® Salicylic Corrective Peel is a stronger chemical peel that uses salicylic acid to improve acne-prone skin. This peel is specifically formulated to clear the skin, treat active acne, and prevent future breakouts. Patients undergoing this chemical peel may need to plan around minimal downtime and potential skin peeling.
Correct Peel
The Correct peel is the strongest chemical peel from Epionce® and is designed to address more advanced skin concerns, including visible aging, hyperpigmentation, acne, and rosacea. It contains salicylic acid, willow bark extract, onion bulb extract, and malic acid. These acids and ingredients work together to promote skin clarity, improve skin texture, clear the pores, and increase cellular turnover rate. This peel requires some downtime post-treatment.
Most patients can benefit from a chemical peel, but no treatment plan will be identical because everyone has different skin types, concerns, sensitivities, and goals.
We will discuss your skin concerns, evaluate your skin in person, and then determine which Epionce® peel is right for you at your initial consultation. We can also make additional treatment recommendations based on your skin concerns that can work alongside your regular chemical peels for enhanced results.
Chemical peels require little to no downtime. Some patients may experience peeling after their treatment: a completely normal skin response that reveals the process is working. Others may not peel for various reasons, but that doesn’t mean the treatment hasn’t been effective.
If you do peel, you must let your skin shed naturally. Interrupting the peeling process and trying to accelerate it by manually removing dead skin or picking at the peeling skin can result in inflammation and even scarring.
While you will benefit from just one peel, the best results come when you make peels a regular part of your skincare routine. The skin cell barrier rebuilds itself approximately every 30 days, so monthly peels designed to eliminate that top layer of dead or damaged skin cells can make a significant difference in your skin’s health and overall appearance.
Once we evaluate your skin in person, we can give you more details about what type of results you can expect, when you will see improvements in your skin, and what type of treatment plan you’ll need to enhance your results and maintain them long-term.
